What to do with your investments during a Presidential election year is a subject that proves to cause investors stress. The fact is that history has proven that elections have very little to do with the long-term earnings potential. Yet, investors typically find these times extremely stressful and often implement strategies that are not beneficial to their overall return.

Recently, we invited Damian Eckstein to give a Zoom presentation to our clients where he discussed historical data dealing with returns during election years. Damian is a wealth management consultant at Capital Group, home of American Funds, covering Orange County, California. He has 25 years of investment industry experience and has been with Capital Group for 10 years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California at Davis. He also holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst® designation and is a member of the Investments & Wealth Institute and the Financial Planning Association.
